I bought this small unfinished wood chair in the craft section of my AC Moore and decided to paint & decorate it in an "altered" style
MATERIALS
Lumiere paint by Jacquard
Small Brushes
Gold and Bronze Spray Paint by Rust-O-Leum (Home Depot)
Assorted "arsty" stamps
Black Brilliance ink or Ranger Decor-It
Ranger Glossy Accents
Photocopies of favorite "altered" art, torn pages from old books, etc.
Various embellishments like compasses, watch parts, etc.
Zap-A-Gap
Mold-n-Pour
The Melting Pot
Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel
Zamora Beadz <
Wonder Tape Sheets
Teflon Non-stick Scissors
Rub 'n Buff
DIRECTIONS
Paint project, let dry, add second coat.
Stamp all over the project
Spray the Gold and Bronze paint randomly over the stamping without obliterating the images. Just enough to add a dramatic flair but where some of the stamping still shows though.
Attach Wonder Tape to the back of photocopy, cut to size with our Teflon scissors and attach to chair back. Do the same with other parts of the photocopy you wish to use. On the smaller photocopies & old pages from books use Glossy Accents to adhere to project.
Use Zap-A-Gap super glue to adhere the embellishments such as the compass, watch face and Zamora Beadz on the seat of the chair.
Make a mold of an old domino or game piece using Mold 'n Pour and fill with melted UTEE. When cooled and hardened Add touches of Rub 'n Buff to the surface to age it. Attach to project with Zap-A-Gap.
I really love how this simple project evolved. I wanted to do something "altered" without it being a book. I'm on a roll now - looking for other unusual items to alter !!!
