Interesting Fact: This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see
in our lifetime!       And only the most elderly of our population have
ever seen it this early. None of us have ever, or will ever, see it a
day earlier!       The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be
the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was
1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around
for that!).      The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in
the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was
1818. So, remember this day: no one alive today has or will ever see it
any earlier than this year!
So,  Have a very Happy Easter

In Memorium Memory Frames Jewelry easy as 1-2-3

Sometimes life is very unfair and people are taken away much too soon.  We lost a lovely lady on March 12th when my friend DOTTIE CLARK passed away from cancer. I stayed with Dottie numerous times when I visited southern Florida.  i would always joke and call her house "Hotel Dottie" and we referred to her guest room as "The Weinberg Suite" . She was a whirlwind of artistic talent and had a larger than life personality. It wil be very hard to forget his really great, vivacious and gracious  lady.

A Celebration of her Life is planned for Saturday, March 29th at 2:00 PM. It will be held at the Belleair Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to Susan G Komen for the Cure or Morton Plant Mease Foundation.

No Glass is needed in this new technique !

  1. Work on Craft Sheet. Melt Clear UTEE then add 1 drop of To Dye For & stir in color slowly.
  2. Insert paper image into Memory Frame. Yes it will be a bit loose in there. Be sure frame is laying flat on work surface.
  3. Pour UTEE into frame to fill. Looks like colored glass when finished. Embellish frame with rhinestones !

I used our sterling silver jewelry bales (attached with Loctite Brush On Super Glue) to attach the extra hanging bale on the bottom of the green frame.

GEMS UTEE BRIGHTZ

Mother & daughter team, Lyle & Toni Baxter are gems ! And..they're wearing the faux gemstone UTEE necklaces they made in a class at my studio given by UTEE artists Kathy Nycz and Andrea Frank.

This is but one example of artist Kathy Nycz's designs using UTEE. to Both the beads and the centerpiece of the necklace are made  with UTEE BRIGHTZ.  Kathy's necklaces are all masterpieces to me !

Suze Visits Paris  - Again ! Miss Mona on Beeswax

r

Happily for me I just had a chance to go back to Paris  ( I was there last spring for fun).  Lenny came too !

I was there to demo on behalf of Ranger for their French distributors at the SMAC craft show. This show was the BEST...it was so colorful and so bright and full of life.

I've done a little photoshow just to give you some idea of the event. My way of sharing a little of the experience with you.

In honor of my Paris trip I made this Mona collage onn canvas using Beeswax.

I incorporated rub ons over the beeswax and Grungeboard letters brushed with beeswax and then pressed a stamp into them for texture. I used Perfect Pearls over the beeswax to give it added color. i smoothed it out as I went along using the HOT WAX STYLUS TOOL

A Memory Glass Technique with UTEE NEW * NEW * NEW

And, here's a wonderful example of art  & a new technique from Bea in France....

  1. Stamp Victorian Sun lightly on 2 pcs. of Memory Glass using black ink.
  2. Tap a clear embossing pad directly to both pieces of glass to coat them with clear ink. Sprinkle on 3 colors of UTEE Brightz but DO NOT emboss yet.
  3. Sandwich the two sides with embossing powder to each other then emboss by heating the glass until you see the powders melting.
  4. Faux Solder the edges using UTEE. It's such a cool effect!!!! Faux Soldering is easy...just dip each edge of the glass into melted UTEE. It seals the edges.

Bea has a slight variation on this.....after she sandwiches the two glass slides together she uses real solder to keep them together and THEN heats the glass.

Either way...it's such a cool idea...we just want you to give it a try!

I L-O-V-E the new Glimmer Screen stencils from Tattered Angels. They spray them with their new Creme Collection Glimmer Mists but you can use them in many artistic ways. And check out their incredible Creme Collection Glimmer Chips (below)....in the Regal series (30 pcs) and the Nature Series (32 pcs) . They're self adhesive.

If you're a baby boomer you'll love THIS....LOL...Suze
